Praised by Opera Today for “pure, clear tones” and lauded by the Arizona Republic for “purity and vivacious charm,” soprano Sarah Tucker is demanding attention for her captivating vocal timbre and engaging stage presence. Ms. Tucker was a National Semifinalist in the 2014 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and recently completed her second year as a member of the Arizona Opera Studio. She was recently heard as Nelly Nettleton in Arizona Opera’s innovative, multilingual production of Arizona Lady, in which she not only sang, but also “danced like a flapper” (Opera Today).
The 2022-2023 season brings Ms. Tucker to Fargo Moorhead Opera as Mimi in La bohème, the Vallejo Center for the Arts as Tatyana in selections from Eugene Onegin, and to Dayton Philharmonic to premiere My Sister’s Voice by composer Reena Esmail.
During the 2021-2022 season, Ms. Tucker stepped in for an ailing colleague, making her debut as soprano soloist in Verdi’s Requiem with The Dallas Symphony at Highland Park Presbyterian. She also made her role debut as Freia in Das Rheingold with Virginia Opera, brought her Adina in L’elisir d’amore to Dayton Opera, made a celebrated role debut as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte with San Diego Opera, and joined North Carolina Opera as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte.
