REBECCA RINGLE KAMAREI

MEZZO-SOPRANO

BIOGRAPHY

Praised by Opera News for her “richly focused voice”, mezzo-soprano Rebecca Ringle Kamarei’s performances have brought her acclaim on operatic and concert stages. Her New York City Opera debut as Lola in Cavalleria rusticana was hailed as “sultry” and “sweetly sung” by The Wall Street Journal and London’s Financial Times. She returned to NYCO as Suzuki in Madama Butterfly and Dorothée in Cendrillon. The 2022-2023 season brings Rebecca back to The Metropolitan Opera for productions of The Hours and La traviata. During the 2021-2022 season, Rebecca joined The Metropolitan Opera for productions of Akhnaten, Elektra, and Brett Dean’s Hamlet and was a featured soloist in “Rachmaninoff and His World” at Bard Summerscape, and in concert with Aspect Foundation for Music and Arts.

In the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons, Rebecca was slated to return to the Metropolitan Opera for productions of Akhnaten, Manon, and La Cenerentola, to make her role debut as Dorabella in Così fan tutte with Boston Baroque, and to perform Berlioz’s Les nuits d’été with the Missoula Symphony (cancelled due to COVID-19).
