REBECCA RINGLE KAMAREI
Praised by Opera News for her “richly focused voice”, mezzo-soprano Rebecca Ringle Kamarei’s performances have brought her acclaim on operatic and concert stages. Her New York City Opera debut as Lola in Cavalleria rusticana was hailed as “sultry” and “sweetly sung” by The Wall Street Journal and London’s Financial Times. She returned to NYCO as Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, Dorothée in Cendrillon and to cover Rosmira in Partenope. During the 2021-2022 season, Rebecca returns to The Metropolitan Opera for productions of Akhnaten, Elektra, and Brett Dean's Hamlet and is featured in concert with Bard Music Festival and Aspect Foundation for Music and Arts.
In the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons, Rebecca was slated to return to the Metropolitan Opera for productions of Akhnaten, Manon, and La Cenerentola, to make her role debut as Dorabella in Così fan tutte with Boston Baroque, and to perform Berlioz’s Les nuits d’été with the Missoula Symphony (cancelled due to COVID-19).
Her 2018-2019 season included Marnie’s shadow in Marnie, the cover of Rossweisse in Die Walküre with the Metropolitan Opera, and Lucienne in Die tote Stadt with the Bard Summerscape. Rebecca also recently appeared as Catherine in Shining Brow with UrbanArias; Arnalta in L’incoronazione di Poppea with Cincinnati Opera;
